PVA 088-50 is a high viscosity, water-soluble Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA), a long-chain polymer characterized by a low degree of hydrolysis.

Applications:

Adhesive production: used for wood, paper, fabric, plastic with high adhesion, quick drying.
Textiles: used as fabric sizing agent, adhesive and raw material for vinylon fiber production.
Film production: used to create food packaging films, protective films, insulating films, oil and water resistance.
Paper and polymer industry: paper reinforcement, emulsion stabilization, polymer dispersion, PVC production.
Paint and ink production: used as film-forming agent, increasing gloss and surface coating durability.

Description

PVA 088-50 is a high-viscosity water-soluble Polyvinyl Alcohol with a long-chain polymer structure and a hydrolysis degree between 87.0% and 89.0%. It appears as an ivory-white, odorless powder that dissolves easily in water upon heating. With a purity of ≥ 93.5%, PVA 088-50 meets safety standards according to FDA 175.105 and BGVM III. Its high viscosity enhances adhesion and coating performance in various industrial formulations. This product is officially distributed by Vichem – the authorized distributor of SINOPEC in Vietnam.

1. PRODUCT APPLICATIONS

PVA 088-50 is widely used in adhesive manufacturing, offering strong bonding performance on wood, paper, fabric, and plastic surfaces. In the textile industry, it is used as a sizing agent to improve fiber shaping and enhance adhesion to vinylon fibers. In packaging and film production, PVA 088-50 contributes to oil resistance, water repellency, and electrical insulation. It is also applied in paper reinforcement, emulsion stabilization, polymer dispersion, and PVC resin production. In coatings and inks, PVA 088-50 acts as a film-forming agent that improves gloss and surface durability.

2. TECHNICAL NOTES

The product should be stored in a dry, ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and high humidity. Reseal the packaging after each use to avoid moisture absorption. When handling powder form, wear a mask to ensure respiratory safety. Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life of PVA 088-50 is up to 36 months.
