PVA 088-05

PVA 088-05 is a water-soluble polymer with low viscosity, used in packaging, adhesives, textiles, construction, and polymerization.

Application:

Production of film, food packaging, plastic bags, shrink film with the ability to resist water, grease and protect goods.
As an adhesive and reinforcing agent in paper production, increasing durability, moisture resistance and water resistance.
Fabric sizing agent, fabric reinforcement, increasing durability, anti-wrinkle, water resistance and color retention in textiles.
As an additive in adhesives, construction mortars, concrete, increasing adhesion, waterproofing and prolonging the life of the project.
Application in polymerization: emulsion stabilization, suspension dispersion for the production of PVC plastic and other polymer products

Description

PVA 088-05 is a water-soluble polymer belonging to the Polyvinyl Alcohol group, featuring low viscosity and a hydrolysis degree of 87.0–89.0%. It has a long-chain structure, ivory-white powder form, odorless, and dissolves easily upon heating. With excellent dispersibility and purity over 93.5%, PVA 088-05 is widely used in formulations requiring high stability. The product complies with FDA 175.105 and BGVM III standards, making it safe for food packaging and technical applications. It is one of the products officially distributed by Vichem – the authorized distributor of SINOPEC in Vietnam.

1. PRODUCT APPLICATIONS

PVA 088-05 is a versatile raw material used across multiple industries. In packaging, it is applied in the production of films, plastic bags, and biodegradable packaging due to its water and grease resistance. In the paper industry, PVA acts as a binder and reinforcing agent, improving strength, flexibility, and water resistance. In textiles, it is used for fabric sizing to enhance form retention, crease resistance, and color fastness.

Moreover, PVA 088-05 is a key additive in construction mortars, adhesives, and concrete, improving adhesion and extending service life. In polymerization processes, it helps stabilize emulsions, disperse suspensions, and is compatible with PVC and other polymers.

2. TECHNICAL NOTES

PVA 088-05 should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. After opening, reseal the bag properly to prevent moisture absorption, which may affect product quality. As the powder can become airborne, it is recommended to wear a mask during handling. Avoid storing in areas with high humidity or near heat sources. The recommended shelf life is 36 months from the date of manufacture under proper storage conditions.
