PVA 088-20 is a water-soluble polymer in the Polyvinyl Alcohol group, with medium viscosity and a hydrolysis degree between 87.0% and 89.0%. It appears as an ivory-white, odorless powder that disperses easily in water upon heating. With a purity of ≥ 93.5% and low volatility, PVA 088-20 is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications requiring high stability. The product complies with FDA 175.105 and BGVM III standards, ensuring safety for indirect food contact. It is officially distributed by Vichem – the authorized distributor of SINOPEC in Vietnam.
1. PRODUCT APPLICATIONS
PVA 088-20 is used to enhance strength and adhesion in paper, textiles, and composite construction materials. In the packaging and food industries, it is applied as a protective layer for plastic bags, shrink films, and wrapping films with effective moisture resistance. Additionally, PVA 088-20 serves as a thickener, viscosity enhancer, and durability improver in coatings, printing inks, and various technical chemical solutions. Thanks to its stable viscosity and excellent compatibility, it is an optimal choice in many emulsion and polymerization systems.
2. TECHNICAL NOTES
PVA 088-20 should be stored in its original packaging in a dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight. After use, the bag must be tightly sealed to prevent moisture or dust from affecting the product quality. During handling, wear a mask and gloves to ensure safety. Avoid placing the product near heat sources or in high-humidity areas. Shelf life is up to 36 months under proper storage conditions.
