Uralac 7122 X-50 is a solvent-based hydroxy acrylic resin containing 50% solids in a xylene/n-butyl acetate blend, manufactured by Covestro (Germany). The product is specifically designed for two-component polyurethane (2K PU) coating systems, suitable for use as both basecoat and topcoat in wood, metal, automotive, and motorcycle coating applications.
With a hydroxyl value of 2% and fast-drying characteristics, Uralac 7122 X-50 produces a smooth, clear, and high-gloss film. Its touch-dry time of approximately 25 minutes helps shorten production cycles, increase coating line efficiency, and maintain excellent weather durability with superior yellowing resistance.
The resin is highly compatible with Desmodur Ultra isocyanates such as Z4470, N3300, N3390, and N75, creating 2K PU coatings that deliver excellent transparency, gloss, and UV resistance.

Uralac 7110 X-70 stands out for its fast-drying capability, with a surface-dry time of approximately 25 minutes, making it ideal for high-efficiency industrial spray coating lines. The coating film exhibits exceptional gloss, featuring a smooth, bright surface with sharp reflective clarity. It maintains transparency and natural color without yellowing, even under direct UV exposure.
Thanks to its excellent weather resistance, the film retains its color stability and withstands prolonged heat and humidity, as demonstrated by an 800-hour QUV test showing a ΔE of only 0.5. In addition, Uralac 7110 X-70 is easy to formulate and highly compatible with various solvents and isocyanate hardeners.
Once cured, the coating film remains dimensionally stable, with no shrinkage, minimal sagging, and a uniform, level surface, ensuring both long-term durability and a refined aesthetic finish.
1. PRODUCT APPLICATIONS
Uralac 7122 X-50 is widely used in various high-performance coating applications, particularly in systems that require fast drying and high gloss.
In the automotive and motorcycle industries, it serves as a basecoat or topcoat resin in 2K PU coating systems, providing a smooth, glossy film with excellent color retention.
For premium wood coatings, Uralac 7122 X-50 delivers a clear, non-yellowing finish that preserves the brightness and natural beauty of the wood surface. When applied in metal coatings, it produces a uniform, glossy protective layer with superior color stability and excellent weather resistance.
Additionally, in industrial coatings, Uralac 7122 X-50 is preferred for exterior systems exposed to mechanical stress and harsh climatic conditions, ensuring outstanding durability and a refined aesthetic appearance.
2. TECHNICAL NOTES
Uralac 7122 X-50 should be thinned with aromatic, ester, or ketone solvents, with the ratio adjusted according to the desired evaporation rate and application conditions. The product is highly compatible with Desmodur Ultra hardeners such as Z4470, N3300, N3390, and N75, ensuring the formation of a durable and stable coating film.
For storage, keep the product in a dry, well-ventilated area at 5–30°C, away from direct sunlight, and always seal tightly after use to prevent solvent loss. The product must not be frozen below 0°C.
During handling, operators should wear protective gloves and safety goggles, and ensure adequate ventilation to maintain a safe working environment. The shelf life of the product is 6 months from the date of manufacture when properly stored. If the storage period exceeds the recommended time, the product’s quality should be verified before use.
