Trinomic is a three-roll mill designed by Bühler specifically for applications requiring high-performance grinding and dispersion. The machine integrates precise gap control mechanisms, efficient cooling systems, and the capability for continuous operation with high reliability.

1. PRODUCT APPLICATIONS
Trinomic is suitable for dispersing pigments, metal oxides, organic colorants, or high-viscosity pastes. Typical applications include the production of automotive paints, wood coatings, cosmetic colorants, and engineering plastics. Thanks to its strong shear mechanism and precise roll gap control, Trinomic produces highly refined pastes with uniform particle distribution, free of agglomerates, suitable for premium formulations requiring color stability and high gloss.
2. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Before grinding, operators should select the appropriate speed mode for the type of paste and inspect the condition of the grinding rolls. Materials are fed into the roll gap via pump or manual loading, followed by adjusting the gap and shear pressure in stages. After grinding, the rolls should be cleaned with solvent and a specialized scraper blade to remove any residual material. This process should be performed while the machine is still warm to prevent pigment residues from hardening and becoming difficult to clean.
3. TECHNICAL NOTES
Trinomic requires materials with medium to high viscosity and good thermal stability. It is not recommended to process materials containing rapidly evaporating solvents or substances prone to crystallization. During operation, roll temperature should be controlled using chilled water or circulating thermal oil systems. Regularly check the roll gap to ensure consistent fineness and prevent overpressure that could cause roll misalignment or mechanical seal damage. Use only Bühler-recommended cleaning solvents to extend roll lifespan and avoid adverse effects on the substrate materials post-grinding.
