Solvent-based hardeners are essential components in 2K coating systems. They play a critical role in crosslinking with base resins to form a durable coating film. Once the reaction is complete, the coating achieves superior hardness, adhesion, and chemical resistance. These hardeners are widely used in environments requiring high abrasion resistance, solvent durability, and long-term color stability.
1. PRODUCT APPLICATION
In the wood industry, hardeners are often used to enhance gloss, scratch resistance, and help the coating maintain durable color. In industrial settings, this product helps protect steel structures, factory floors, or tanks thanks to its superior chemical resistance. In addition, hardeners are also used in coatings for machinery, mechanical equipment, or outdoor constructions that require UV resistance and weather durability.
2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
To achieve the best performance, mix the hardener with the resin at the ratio specified by the manufacturer. The mixture should be stirred thoroughly and allowed to stabilize for 3–5 minutes before application. The ideal application environment is at a temperature of 20–35°C and humidity below 75% so that the coating film cures evenly without haze or dust contamination. The thinner used must be compatible, water or unfamiliar substances should not be used as they can cause precipitation or reduce adhesion.
3. TECHNICAL NOTES
After mixing, the entire mixture should be used within the recommended pot life from 1 to 4 hours. Avoid prolonged exposure of the hardener to air as it can react with moisture and reduce curing efficiency. During handling, gloves and safety glasses must be worn and application must be carried out in a well-ventilated area to ensure labor safety. After use, the packaging must be tightly closed and stored in a dry, cool place, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources.
